But honestly? The updated ones turned out kinda cute.
The Whole “Aurora Vibes” Situation
So I asked her what that even meant (because excuse me??), and she goes:
“Like… soft pink, a little purple, sparkles… but also like she lives in the forest… but still fancy.”
Girl.

PDF vs JPG (learned this the hard way)
Okay so:
PDF = printing (clean, sharp, looks nice)
JPG = texting/emailing to other moms
I accidentally printed JPG once and it looked kinda… meh. Not terrible, just not cute enough for my standards lol.
Customizing… aka Me Messing Around Until It Looked Right

Fonts Are a Whole Personality

super basic font for the details
Because at the end of the day, moms need to read this fast while multitasking. No one’s squinting at fancy swirls.
Adding Her Photo… Yeah, That Didn’t Work
I tried. I really did.
But it just… clashed.
Like, Aurora’s all soft and dreamy and then BAM my kid smiling like it’s school picture day.
Didn’t match.
So I scrapped it. And honestly? It looked better without it.
Sometimes less really is more (I hate that it’s true but it is lol).
Printing… Where Reality Kicks In
Cardstock vs Regular Paper
I tested both.
Regular paper = meh
Cardstock = okay wow, this looks legit
So yeah. Cardstock wins. Every time.
Printer Settings Matter More Than I Thought
First print came out looking like Aurora hadn’t slept in 100 years (which… okay technically accurate but still 😂)
Colors were dull.
Switched to “high quality” print and boom—way better.
Cutting… Listen, We’re Not Perfect Here
I used 5×7 size because it’s easiest.

But kids don’t care. Parents don’t care.
If it’s slightly uneven, it’s fine. We’re not entering a competition.

Okay so I definitely didn’t just pick one right away. I went down a rabbit hole.

Super pastel, very sweet. Perfect for younger kids.

More detailed, very “classic princess.” My daughter said it was “a little too much castle” lol.

Clean and simple. Honestly my backup option.

This is the one I ended up using. Soft, artsy, just felt right.
Where I Printed Mine (Because Home Printer Was Acting Up 🙃)
I ended up going to Walgreens during a grocery run.
Super easy. Uploaded the file, picked them up like 20 minutes later.
It was around $0.20 per 5×7 which… not bad at all.
I’ve also done Staples before when I wanted thicker cardstock.
Matte vs Glossy (this actually matters)
I used to think glossy = better.
But nope.
Matte is way more practical:
no fingerprints (kids touch everything immediately)
easier to read
doesn’t feel slippery
Glossy is cute, just… not for me anymore.
After I Handed Them Out (This Part Was Actually Cute)
So my daughter lines them up on the counter like she’s judging a runway show.

It’s so easy to keep adding stuff. Flowers, sparkles, frames…
At some point it just looks busy. I had to stop myself.
Digital invites are totally fine too
I texted a few moms instead of printing extras. Zero complaints.
