It all started because one of my son’s buddies showed up to a birthday party wearing tiny cowboy boots. Like… actual little boots. Honestly though? I wasn’t mad about it. I kinda love when they come up with random themes because it forces me out of my “blue balloons and cupcakes” comfort zone.
So I ended up making a bunch of Rango invitations in Canva… and they turned out way cuter than I expected.

If I’m making a bigger batch, Staples has been really solid too.
As for paper…
I’m Team Matte.
Always.
Well… almost always.
Matte is easier to write on.
Kids don’t leave fingerprints everywhere.
It photographs surprisingly well too.
Glossy does make those turquoise skies and desert sunsets pop though.
If the invitation has really vibrant colors?
Glossy looks awesome.
Honestly…
There’s no wrong choice.
It’s birthday invitations.
Not legal documents.
Nobody’s judging paper finishes.
