The funny thing is… I was supposed to be folding laundry. 😂 Instead, I somehow ended up sitting at the kitchen island with my coffee getting cold while messing around in Canva for way longer than I planned. Andrew walked by, looked at my screen, and goes, “Didn’t you already make Family Guy invitations?” Well… yeah. But they needed a little something. You know how it goes.
I wasn’t trying to reinvent the wheel or anything. I just wanted them to feel a little more fun because kids notice the tiniest stuff. And honestly? So do moms.
16+ Stewie Griffin Family Guy Birthday Invitation Templates You Can Edit FREE in Canva
Why Stewie Griffin is the Ultimate Party Host (Even if He’s a Baby)
I swear Stewie is one of those characters kids either instantly think is hilarious… or they spend the next week trying to copy his accent around the house. 😂 Charlotte had her friends over one afternoon, and somehow they ended up debating which Stewie face was the funniest instead of actually picking a movie. Kids are weird in the best way.
That’s kinda why I love using him for a birthday party.
He’s already loud enough without the invitation screaming at you.
I noticed when I kept the design a little cleaner, the Stewie artwork actually stood out more. If you throw every explosion graphic, every comic font, every bright color on one page… whew. It starts looking like somebody dumped the toy bin onto the invitation.
So these Family Guy invitation templates stay colorful without making your eyeballs work overtime.
Some little details I ended up loving:
That classic yellow and red color combo because… it’s Stewie. It just works.
Comic speech bubbles that make everything feel a little goofy.
Big chunky fonts parents can actually read without zooming in. (Ask me why this matters… because my mom definitely asked me what time the party started after staring at one tiny invitation I made years ago. 😂)
Lots of white space so it doesn’t feel crazy once it’s printed.
Little stars, comic bursts, and cartoon doodles that keep it playful without looking like clip art exploded everywhere.
It’s honestly one of those themes where less ended up looking way cooler.
Accessing Your 16+ FREE Stewie Griffin Canva Invitation Templates
Everything’s editable in Canva, which is basically my favorite thing because I don’t have the patience to learn fancy design software. If Canva suddenly disappeared one day… I’d probably need to sit down for a minute. 😂
I made a bunch of different versions because every kid somehow likes a different Stewie.
Classic Stewie
This one’s for the kid who’s been quoting Stewie nonstop and wants everybody to know exactly what the party theme is.
Comic Chaos
A little louder, more comic-book energy. Great for older kids who think bigger is automatically cooler.
Evil Genius Mode
Lots of bold reds and darker colors without making it look spooky. It’s got just enough attitude.
Bright Birthday Party
Probably my favorite because it still feels like an actual birthday instead of a TV poster. Lots of balloons, confetti, and fun colors.
Griffin Crew
Perfect if your kid likes the whole family instead of just Stewie stealing every scene.
Honestly… I kept changing which one I liked best. Typical me.
Step-by-Step: Customizing Your Invites in Canva (No Design Skills Needed!)
Custom Your Free Stewie Griffin Family Guy Invitations Here!
This part always sounds harder than it actually is.
I opened Canva thinking, “Oh this’ll take five minutes.”
Ha.
Forty-five minutes later I was still changing fonts that literally looked almost identical. 😂 Andrew couldn’t even tell the difference. Meanwhile I’m over there like, “No babe… this one has ✨personality✨.”
Then I printed my first test copy.
Y’all…
The yellow looked SO much brighter than it did on my laptop. Like… school bus had a baby with a highlighter bright.
So I backed the color down a bit, made the text a little bigger, scooted a couple graphics around because one balloon was weirdly covering the RSVP section (don’t ask me how I missed that), and printed another one.
Way better.
Now I always print one copy first before sending twenty to Walgreens.
That one little test print has saved me from so many “well… that’s unfortunate” moments.
Editing the template itself is super easy though.
Just swap out:
Birthday kid’s name
Age
Date
Time
Address
RSVP info
Done.
No downloading random fonts.
No weird software.
No watching a 37-minute YouTube tutorial just to change somebody’s birthday.
Bless.
Printing & Sharing Your Family Guy Masterpiece
I’m usually already out running errands anyway, so Walgreens makes the most sense for me.
I’ll upload the invitation while sitting in the school pickup line (multitasking level: mom 😂), grab groceries, and then swing by Walgreens on the way home. Their 5×7 photo prints are usually around 20 cents each, which honestly feels like one of the cheapest parts of throwing a birthday party these days.
If I want something a little sturdier, Staples has been really solid too.
As for paper…
I’m team matte cardstock almost every single time.
Mostly because little kids have mysterious sticky fingers literally 24/7, and matte hides fingerprints way better. Plus everybody ends up tossing the invitation into a purse or diaper bag anyway, and matte just survives that chaos a little better.
Glossy is really pretty though.
The reds and yellows absolutely pop on glossy if that’s your thing.
And ngl… about half the parents I know just want a text message these days. 😂 So I always save a JPG too and drop it into the neighborhood group chat.
Done and done.
Stewie-Approved Party Ideas & Themes
I have exactly zero interest in spending hundreds of dollars on decorations that end up in my garage until next spring. 😂
So here’s what actually worked around our house.
DIY “Evil Genius” Snack Table
Grab a black tablecloth, yellow balloons, and some little plastic science beakers from Amazon. Toss popcorn, pretzels, or candy in them and suddenly everybody thinks you’re Pinterest.
Funny Family Guy Cake Toppers
Etsy has some really cute printable toppers that ended up being WAY cheaper than ordering a custom bakery cake.
Balloon Inspiration
Pinterest completely sucked me into a rabbit hole… but I actually found some super easy black, yellow, and red balloon setups that didn’t require an engineering degree.
Dollar Store Science Lab
Seriously don’t sleep on Dollar Tree.
Clear cups.
Ping pong balls.
Black poster board.
Yellow caution tape.
Boom.
The kids thought it looked like Stewie’s little laboratory, and I think I spent less than my Starbucks order.
Love that for me.
Frequently Asked Questions About Your Stewie Invites
Can I edit everything?
Yep.
Colors, wording, fonts, pictures… basically if you can click it, you can probably change it.
Do I need Canva Pro?
Nope.
Everything works with the free Canva account.
Huge win.
Can I print these at home?
Absolutely.
Just use thicker cardstock if your printer likes to eat regular paper like mine apparently does.
What’s the best invitation size?
I always stick with 5×7.
It’s easy to print almost anywhere, and envelopes are super easy to find.
Can I text these instead?
Oh 100%.
Half my RSVPs come from text messages now anyway.
Should I test print first?
YES.
Learn from my aggressively yellow invitation.
One test print can save you from printing twenty copies that don’t look anything like your screen.
Ask me how I know. 😂
Unleash Your Inner Megalomaniac: More Family Guy Fun
The invitations honestly ended up being one of my favorite parts of the whole party.
Not because they’re fancy.
Just because the kids immediately started pointing at different Stewie faces and arguing over which one looked the “most evil.” They were cracking themselves up before the pizza even showed up.
One mom asked where I ordered them because she assumed they came from Etsy.
When I told her I made them in Canva, she looked at me like I’d been holding out on her. 😂
Andrew’s contribution was basically, “These definitely look better than last year’s.”
Which, coming from the guy who usually notices decorations halfway through the party… I’ll absolutely take as a compliment.
Anyway… now I have another excuse to open Canva again next year.
I mean… after I fold that laundry.
…Maybe.
