So yeah… I was at swim class, sitting on those questionably clean plastic chairs, half watching my kid splash like a tiny maniac, half staring at my phone like… why does this invite look so sad??
15+ Updated Two-tti Frutti Birthday Invitation Templates (Canva + Printable)
Like… it wasn’t bad bad. But it had zero personality. It was giving “I tried” but not “this kid throws chaos and glitter everywhere,” which is… very much my child.
So I reopened my Two-tti Frutti birthday invitations on Canva and just started messing with it. No plan. Just vibes. And honestly? That’s usually when things actually work.
Between yelling “KICK! KICK!” and “pls stop drinking pool water,” I ended up fixing the whole thing.
Not perfectly. Not Pinterest-perfect. But like… real cute. The kind of cute where other moms go “wait, did you make that?” and you casually shrug like it wasn’t chaos behind the scenes.
Why I Even Picked a Two-tti Frutti Theme (aka I needed something EASY)
Toddlers = tiny chaos gremlins who love loud stuff
Listen. Toddlers do NOT care about aesthetics. They don’t care about your muted color palette. They want loud. They want silly. They want faces on everything.
So yeah, Two-tti Frutti birthday invitations just… work.
Bright colors? Check.
Random fruit with googly eyes? Immediate hit.
Zero need to overthink? Bless.
I went all in with:
- watermelon pink (like aggressively pink lol)
- citrus orange
- that loud lime green that almost hurts your eyes
At first I was like… “oh no this is giving fruit explosion.” But then I remembered—this is for toddlers, not a wedding invite. So I leaned into it.
And honestly? It ended up looking fun in that “kids will actually notice this instead of ignoring it” kind of way.
It’s technically for turning two… but like… rules are fake
Okay yes, the “Two-tti” pun is doing a lot of heavy lifting here.
But real talk? You can reuse this theme forever.
I already told myself next year I’m just deleting the “Two-tti” text and boom—same design, new age. Work smarter, not harder, because I am TIRED.
What I Actually Changed (and where I messed up lol)
So I wasn’t starting from scratch. I had an old template from last year.
And when I say “template,” I mean… something I made at 11pm while half-watching Netflix and it showed.
First problem: the background was… weak
I picked this soft pastel peach because I thought I was being ~aesthetic~
Girl. It printed like a ghost.
Like you had to squint to see anything. Absolutely not.
So I swapped it for a deeper coral and bumped up the contrast and suddenly everything looked alive again.
Moral of the story: if it looks “subtle” on your phone, it’s probably gonna look invisible printed.
Second problem: I went full fruit salad mode
At one point I had:
- strawberries
- bananas
- pineapples
- grapes
- oranges
probably more honestly I blacked out
It looked like a grocery store flyer. I wish I was kidding.
So I had to go back and delete like half of it and just stick to 3–4 fruits max.
Game changer.
Now it actually looked like a design instead of a fruit inventory list.
Third problem: Canva fonts are liars
Why do some fonts look SO cute on screen and then print like… they gave up on life??
I used this thin script font at first and when I printed it, it looked like it was whispering. No one could read anything.
So I switched to a chunkier font and suddenly it was like OH OK we can see words now.
Not glamorous advice, but:
If your font looks “delicate,” it might betray you.
Also—I did NOT do this all at once
This was not some magical productive moment.
It was:
tweak a little during swim
tweak again while stirring pasta
tweak again after I sat down “for one second” and didn’t get up for 20 minutes
Honestly this is how all my “projects” happen now.
The Versions I Couldn’t Decide Between (classic me)
click here to download your free templates
I made multiple versions because apparently I like making my life harder.
Loud & chaotic fruit mix
For kids who love color and everything happening at once. My daughter’s favorite.
Soft-ish fruity pastels
Still fun but slightly less “WHOA MY EYES.” Good if you want chill vibes (couldn’t be me lol).
Citrus only (orange + lemon)
Low-key my favorite. Cleaner, still cute, doesn’t feel overwhelming.
Watermelon moment
Heavy pink + green. Very summer BBQ energy. Honestly kinda iconic.
Photo version
Added my kid’s face because she DEMANDED it.
“Mommy I want me.”
Okay ma’am.
How I Actually Edited My Two-tti Frutti Birthday Invitations
It’s literally just Canva
Click link → “Use Template” → done.
No tech stress. No downloads. Nothing weird.
Even if you’re half awake, you can do this.
What I always double check (because I’ve learned the hard way)
Time (I once put 3pm instead of 2pm… never again, that was chaos)
Address (why are we always rushing this part??)
Spelling of my own kid’s name (don’t ask 🙃)
Quick tip: read it OUT LOUD once. You’ll catch mistakes way faster.
Printing… aka my ongoing struggle with printers
Paper matters more than you think
I’ve tried both:
Matte cardstock → easier to read, looks more “put together”
Glossy photo → colors pop but feels kinda… slippery? idk
I stick with matte now. It just feels nicer handing it to other moms at pickup without it blinding them under the sun.
Cutting = do not eyeball it, I beg you
I tried cutting without crop marks once.
They all came out slightly crooked. Not enough for anyone else to care… but enough for me to stare at them like 😐
Now I use a paper cutter and it takes like 2 minutes and I don’t spiral.
When I don’t feel like dealing with my printer
I just upload to Walgreens.
Cheap. Fast. No printer rage.
Because sometimes my printer decides it’s emotionally unavailable and I’m not fighting that battle.
Party Stuff That Matched the Invites (but like… low effort)
Decorations that look like effort but aren’t
Balloons in fruit colors
Cheap fruit banner
Fake fruit from the dollar store (honestly… kinda cute??)
I threw it all together in like 30 minutes and it looked way more thought-out than it actually was.
We love a shortcut.
Activities (aka keep it short before chaos hits)
We did a fruit toss game.
It lasted maybe 7 minutes before kids got distracted. Perfect.
Also had coloring pages because… always have a backup. ALWAYS.
Snacks… I kept it real simple
Cut fruit. Juice boxes. Done.
I tried to do cute fruit skewers.
The kids immediately pulled them apart.
So yeah. Never doing that again lol.
Real Talk: What Actually Mattered After the Party
My kid did NOT care about the invite.
Like… at all.
But she DID recognize the fruit designs at the party and got weirdly excited about the “orange picture,” which honestly melted me a little.
And a couple moms asked where I got the invite.
Which—let’s be honest—felt like I had my life together for a solid five minutes. I’ll take it.
If You’re Thinking About Making Your Own…
Do it. But don’t overthink it.
Seriously.
Start with a Two-tti Frutti birthday invitations template, swap the name, fix the colors, call it a day.
Done is better than perfect. I repeat that to myself like… daily.
And if you end up editing it in random places like swim class, the car, or while hiding from your kids in the pantry…
yeah, same.
That’s just how this works now 😂
