“How I Pulled Off a Transformers One Birthday”
You know when your kid gets obsessed with something and suddenly your entire home becomes a shrine to it? That was us with Transformers One. After one movie night and about ten replays later, my son Michael decided he was officially part Autobot and told me, “Mom, my birthday HAS to be a Transformers party… with Bumblebee and explosions and maybe a cake shaped like Optimus Prime’s truck.”

Of course, I smiled like any loving mom would and said, “Of course, baby!” But inside? I was spiraling. I don’t have a Hollywood CGI team or a truck-shaped cake mold just lying around. Still, I’m a late-20s mom who writes for a living and creates free invitation templates to help other moms. So if anyone was going to pull this off on a realistic budget—with some glitter glue, creativity, and caffeine—it was going to be me. And let me tell you, planning this party? It turned out to be way more fun (and slightly more chaotic) than I expected. But most of all—it was epic.
