One of my own test prints looked way darker than it did on my screen, which was mildly annoying but also an easy fix once I brightened everything a bit.

Okay…this is probably the dumbest mistake I made.

I picked this chunky pixel font because it looked adorable.

Then I added our address.

Then I added the RSVP.

Then I added “Pizza & Cake.”

And suddenly it looked like somebody dumped alphabet soup onto the invitation.

Everything was squished together.

So I kept the pixel font just for Charlotte’s name and switched everything else to a cleaner font.

Instantly better.

Also…print ONE copy first.

Seriously.

My laptop made the grass blocks look nice and bright.

My printer was apparently having a bad day because everything came out darker and kinda muddy. I bumped the brightness inside Canva just a little and the second print looked way closer to what I actually made.

That one test print probably saved me from wasting twenty sheets of cardstock.

Little hack…if you zoom way out before downloading, weird spacing jumps out at you that you somehow never noticed while editing. I do that every single time now.

Minecraft Party Activities That Were Actually a Hit

I always think the birthday cake is gonna be the star.

Nope.

Kids eat two bites and immediately run back outside.

Diamond Hunt

We hid blue acrylic gems around the backyard.

Andrew thought we’d hidden way too many.

We had exactly zero left after five minutes. 😂

Andrew made this from leftover Amazon boxes because apparently we never throw those away.

Wrapped them in red paper.

Kids played it all afternoon.

Printing My Minecraft Invitation Without Spending a Fortune

I’ve printed invitations at home.

I’ve also absolutely stood beside my printer wondering why it suddenly hates me.

So now?

If I’m printing a bunch, I usually head to Walgreens.

Their 5×7 prints are often around twenty cents each during promotions, and honestly that’s cheaper than me wasting ink trying to fix printer drama at home.

Staples is great too if you want thicker cardstock.

Personally, I’m team matte.

Glossy looks super vibrant, especially with all the diamond blues, but matte hides fingerprints way better. And let’s be real…little kid fingerprints are basically guaranteed before the party even starts.

If you’re texting invitations instead, Canva makes downloading a JPG ridiculously easy.

Why I Keep Using Free Editable Minecraft Invitation Templates

I used to think making everything from scratch somehow made me a “better party mom.”

It didn’t.

It mostly just made me tired.

Now I’d rather save that hour and spend it blowing up balloons with Andrew while Charlotte tells us exactly where every decoration should go. Apparently she’s the party director now. 😂

The kids don’t care if I built the invitation from a blank page.

They care that there’s a Creeper.

And honestly…same.

After the Party

One of Charlotte’s friends walked in holding the invitation and immediately asked where we hid the diamonds because “the invite looked like there’d definitely be treasure.”
