Last summer, I hosted one for my kids, and it was straight out of a storybook (minus the part where the dog ate half the cupcakes — we don’t talk about that).

If you’ve never thrown a fairy garden party for your little one, girl, you are seriously missing out. I’m telling you, magic? The squeals? The sparkles stuck in your hair for three days? Worth it.

If you’re hunting for a fun way to get the summer kids outdoors, off the screens, and into their imagination, I’ve got you. These whimsical fairy garden summer activities are just too cute not to try.

And trust me — you don’t need to be Pinterest royalty to pull this off. Just a sprinkle of creativity and a little help from yours truly (plus some free printables from Drevio.com, of course).

1. DIY Fairy Garden Craft Station

Set up a cute little table outside with mini terracotta pots, pebbles, moss, faux flowers, and tiny fairy figurines — you can grab these from a craft store or even the dollar aisle.

Let the kids create their own little enchanted gardens. They’ll be obsessed, and honestly? So will you.

Hot tip: Use plastic trays or disposable muffin tins to help organize materials for each kid. Less mess, more magic.

2. Fairy Dust Treasure Hunt

Fairy Dust Treasure Hunt

Here’s where the real fun begins. Hide little jars of “fairy dust” (aka glitter in mini containers or tiny bottles) around your backyard or park. Then give each kid a scavenger list — things like “a shiny pebble,” “a feather,” or “a leaf shaped like a heart.” The goal? Find the items, collect the dust, and earn your fairy wings.

Yes, I made printable wings. Yes, they’re on Drevio. And yes, you’re welcome.

3. Toadstool Picnic Time

I’m not saying go to a full woodland tea party, but like… I am saying it would be adorable.

Think little sandwiches, fruit wands (skewered grapes + strawberries), and cupcakes topped with edible flowers or tiny toadstool toppers.

Serve on mismatched teacups and colorful paper plates.

And hey — no one’s judging if the adults sneak a cupcake or two. Hosting is hard work.

4. Storytime Under the Tree

Storytime Under the Tree in summer

Find a shady spot, lay down some blankets, and read a few whimsical stories. “The Flower Fairies,” “The Night Fairy,” or even some made-up fairy tales are perfect.

You could even invite the kids to create their own fairy stories and share them with the group — bonus points if they act it out.

It’s so sweet to see their imaginations run wild. And you get like, 10 minutes to breathe. That’s a win.

5. Fairy Dress-Up & Photo Booth

Give them wings, flower crowns, maybe some glittery face paint (washable, I beg you). Set up a little “enchanted forest” photo corner with vines, twinkle lights, and paper butterflies.

Then just let them pose. My niece gave full-on fairy runway vibes, and I was living for it.

One Last Whisper of Magic

Here’s the thing — kids grow fast. One minute they’re eating dirt in the garden, the next they’re asking for phones.

So let’s make these days sparkle. With a few whimsical touches, a bit of outdoor fun, and maybe a sprinkle of fairy dust (real or not), you’re creating something they’ll remember.

And if you need a little help pulling it together? You know where to find me. Drevio.com is filled with all the magic you need and I’m adding more every week.
