The Easy & Wildest Lion King Birthday Bash
It all started with a roar. Not from Mufasa, mind you—but from my toddler, who sprang out of bed one morning, tangled in a fleece blanket, and loudly proclaimed himself “King of the Savannah!” He had that wild look in his eyes (you know the one—equal parts determination and snack-related mischief), and before I could ask if he wanted cereal or toast, he’d already declared his birthday theme: The Lion King.

And not just any Lion King party. No, this had to be an official coronation. With roaring, jungle drums (which turned out to be Tupperware lids), and possibly a plastic animal stampede. You don’t need a real jungle or the voice of James Earl Jones to set the scene. Just some imagination, streamers, and the ability to tape things to your walls faster than a toddler can un-tape them. We transformed our living room into a makeshift Savannah with dollar-store vines, plastic leaves, and paper palm trees taped everywhere. I even borrowed my mom’s fake ficus plant, and suddenly my couch corner was looking a little wild. The kids loved it. My husband asked why there was a zebra head in his favorite chair.

For the backdrop, I used cheap green plastic tablecloths layered with tan ones (fancy, I know), plus our printable Lion King sign from the free kit. - Scroll up the page until you see the “Download Free Editable … Here” button.
- A new page will be shown in seconds, and you will be able to see the preview of our template designs.
- Choose/click the “Edit Template” button (blue button).
- Now you can personalize our templates, like putting your son or daughter’s name, changing the font-size and color.
- Once you finished with the editing, you can download the final draft (Go to File > Download > Select the File Type (PNG is the best option) > Download.
B. How to Print the file?

- Save the image you want to print to the computer or to a flash drive if it is not saved already. (Step 5 of Download Instruction).
- Go to the file explorer and find the file. Double click the image.
- The file will open in Windows Photo Viewer
- Go to print at the top and then go to the print option
- Select the color printer if you want the photo to print in color
- Select the print size you want
- You may want to play around with the “Fit picture to frame” option. Sometimes that option will allow the photo to print closer to the border, but sometimes it will cut off the edges of the photo.
- Hit print and Voila!!!

Lions, Zebras & Toddlers, Oh My!
My son was absolutely living his best lion life. He wore a bright yellow hoodie with the hood pulled up like a mane, face paint whiskers I’d carefully drawn that morning (with only two smudging mishaps and one emergency baby wipe session), and a slightly crooked cardboard crown we’d made together the night before. He strutted around the yard like he had just reclaimed Pride Rock from Scar himself—roaring with all the might his tiny lungs could muster and occasionally growling at the snack table like it owed him something.

The other kids showed up fully committed to the jungle theme too, and I’ve honestly never seen a cuter safari in my life. We had little lions with fluffy costume tails, tigers with painted noses and stripy shirts, cheetahs in spotted leggings who kept zooming around the yard, and—my personal favorite—a very proud zebra who arrived wearing a black-and-white striped footie pajama onesie. Now, here’s the best part: when I complimented his amazing zebra look, he put his hands on his hips, looked me dead in the eye, and said with total confidence, “Actually, I’m a fast horse.”
Game Time in the Jungle

To avoid total toddler anarchy, I had a game plan. First up, coloring pages. I printed Lion King coloring sheets and dumped crayons and stickers on a table. Instant magic. For 20 full minutes, not one child moved. One girl gave Scar rainbow hair. Another drew a wedding between Simba and a flamingo. It was everything.

Then we played “Pumbaa’s Bug Hunt” where I scattered toy bugs around the yard and the kids had to collect them in baskets. One kid tried to eat a plastic ant. Another screamed because he found an earthworm. The joy was unmatched. We also had “Roar Like Simba” contests (loud) and a dance-off to “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King.” Spoiler: no one won. Everyone just flopped dramatically on the floor and screamed like wild hyenas. A+ energy.

Here’s where things got extra fun—and okay, a little gross in the best way possible. Your little cub will remember the magic—and you’ll remember that smile forever.
