We don’t live in a castle. We don’t even live in a townhome that feels like a castle. But I had a dream, a glue gun, and a few coupon codes. So we started transforming our living room into a fairytale ballroom. I went with Cinderella’s classic palette: sky blue, white, and silver. I found tulle at the dollar store (bless those shelves), wrapped it around the windows, and added some string lights I’d had since Christmas.

It sparkled like a dream. Then I printed the editable welcome sign from the same free Drevio kit, mounted it on cardboard, and placed it by the door with a wand and tiara station. Honestly, it was so cute, I considered leaving it up for the rest of the year. I used our dining table as the “royal banquet” table and covered it with a shiny plastic tablecloth that cost me less than two lattes. On top went DIY centerpieces made from mason jars, dollar-store faux roses, and a little bit of glitter glue that still hasn’t left my kitchen counters.

We even had a paper carriage cutout that I traced from a coloring book and glued to a blue foam board. Rebecca gasped when she saw it. That gasp made the entire night of cutting and gluing while watching Disney+ completely worth it. After the decor, I had one very important job left—make sure the birthday girl looked like royalty.
