A few weeks ago we watched The Secret of NIMH again, and by breakfast the next morning she was already doodling little mice and lanterns on the back of her cereal box. Meanwhile Louise was making squeaky mouse noises for absolutely no reason, Andrew was making pancakes, and somehow we all agreed this would be such a cute birthday theme.
So… I opened Canva.

So I ended up making the text this warm creamy color instead of bright white, added the tiniest shadow ever, and boom… problem solved.
Honestly, always print ONE test copy first.

Andrew walked past while I was editing and goes,
“I found the mushrooms before I found the birthday kid.”

Printing Your Enchanting Templates: Here’s What I Actually Do
Most of the time I’m already running errands anyway, so I’ll upload everything to Walgreens while I’m grabbing snacks or toothpaste.
The 5×7 prints are usually around twenty cents each, and honestly… that’s cheaper than me wasting half my ink at home because my printer decided today was the day to be dramatic.
Staples has been great too if I want thicker cardstock.
Now glossy vs matte…
I’ve tried both.
Glossy photographs really pretty.
Matte FEELS prettier.
Especially for Secret of NIMH.
It’s got that old storybook look that just works.
Plus… people can actually write on matte without the ink doing weird little smudgy gymnastics.
